About

My name is Helen Bantock, I have been running Kite Web Design for over 17 years. In that time I  have seen website building trends come and go as we believe they will continue to do so over the coming years. This is, and will continue to be, a fast moving sector.

This length of experience allows me to find the best web build for each project, manage the project and coach clients through the process.

My background has been varied although most of time it has been in a support and organisations role either in Sales or as a PA where I managed staff, houses, fleets of cars and private travel. The work involved being extremely organised, adaptable and highly discreet.

I also run a couple of networking groups for women in business under the umbrella of The Athena Network.

Our commitment and ethics

I started this work and subsequent business based on the bad experience of someone I knew where they were treated quite badly and the build was inappropriate for the future of the work they were doing.

I have come across many people who do not know what they are paying their web designers and developers for. Part of my ethos is to explain all charges and fees, and work under letter of engagement to lay out the scope of the work agreed.

At Kite I use occasional technicians for specific coding and supporting our busy roster of clients. Any technicians we use are known to us for a period of time.

We do not farm out work to overseas web build centres, this is because it is hard to maintain a relationship with one person within these larger factories. More importantly and ethically, we do not know how much the person doing the work is actually being paid individually or if they are being exploited in any way – this is very important to me.
